The Departments of Psychology and Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences are pleased to invite applications for three new joint faculty positions in the following areas: Human Memory and Attention (open-rank), Human Perception (assistant professor), and Computational Modeling (assistant professor). These positions are part of an on-going hiring plan to establish an integrated Department of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences. This process is likely to result in approximately 12 new faculty hires over the recent and coming years. To date we have hired three new faculty: David Badre (Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Action), Michael Frank (Neural Computation and Cognition), and Bertram Malle (Social Cognition). As part of this integration process, plans are also well underway to house the new department (together with the Institute for Brain Science) in a new building adjacent to the MRI Research Facility. Beyond the excitement of creating this new department, Brown has a highly interdisciplinary research environment in the study of mind, brain, and behavior, encompassed by our Brain Science Institute that includes participation from departments such as Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Philosophy.

Please note that the application deadline for all three positions is December 15, 2008. Additional information may be found using the following links:
