I see how it is. You want personal information, eh? Okay, then.

I am originally from Kansas City, which is in Missouri. (At least, the real Kansas City is.) I went off to MIT for college,
where I received my degree in Brain and Cognitive Science in 2003 and then headed to Brown University for grad school.

These days, I live in Cambridge, MA, with my husband Ben Balas who is a grad student in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT.
We have two lovely cats, Mia (a.k.a., The Gopher) and Leila, who both really wish we had more free time.

My husband and I are co-founders of the Postmodern Avengers, an improv theater troupe
that performs in and around the Boston area. As part of the National Film Challenge,
we've made two short films. We also made a movie for the Boston 48 Hour Film Challenge in 2006.

One of the high points of the year for me is the MIT Mystery Hunt, a 36-72 hour puzzle competition that successfully
blurs the line between work and play. Our team won in 2005, which meant we had the dubious privilege
of writing the 2006 Hunt. Here's a puzzle that Ben and I wrote for it.

As per city ordinance, I follow the Boston Red Sox, although I remain a Royals fan at heart.
As my dad points out, over the last 75 years, both teams have won the same number of World Series.
