Academic Background

1993-1997 Johns Hopkins University – B.S. Biomedical/Electrical Engineering

 Other work/Research

1998-2002 – Biomedical Engineer – Individual Monitoring Systems Inc.

2002-2005 – Senior Research Associate – SUNY College of Optometry

Research Interests

I am currently investigating how 3D shape is derived from multiple sources of information (Disparity, Motion, Texture, etc.). Specifically, I am studying differences in shape/depth perception between simulated environments (flat screens, HMDs) and natural environments where potential ‘flatness’ cues are removed.

Current Projects

Cue Combination in Natural Viewing Conditions:

My current experiments are studying depth and slant perception under natural viewing conditions.  The results obtained are being used to compare and test the predictions of the current standard MWF (1) model and the more recent IC model (2).
